Two ceremonies by Monegasque law … I agree with you that it’s jarring how the narrator keeps repeating MaNOCKo. It’s quite amusing, really. Now we all know where the principality of Monaco is located, as we also know about the Grimaldi family’s history. But back in 1955, until Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly got engaged, Monaco wasn’t on the globe as far as Americans were concerned.

She is so gorgeous. Im 22 and I wish women in Hollywood would take a lesson from the ancient Hollywood actresses. They were sexy without being vulgar and classless. They do not compare. I like ancient Hollywood if you can tell. She is one of my favorite actresses. Im glad she found her one right like. Its so romantic.

It wasn’t a romantic idyll. Monaco was a lonely, painful life for her in many ways. I got the impression watching interviews with the couple over the years that they were not close. In a Christophers interview in the 1960s there was a certain chill in the air. They sat as far from each other as they could without falling off the settee and scarcely ever looked at each other. I’d say the truth of the marriage is shown in the way their children turned out.
